Basketball…in Africa?!

In a continent long know for their passion about soccer Central African Republic has been united by another sport, basketball. Central African Republic won the African Championship in 1974 and 1987 but has since been ravaged by civil war and caught in the middle of other wars happening in the region. Kids who once spent time shooting hoops were now caught in the middle of a war-torn nation and were often being captured to be child soldiers. On November 7-18 we are sending a team of basketball lovers to offering hope through the sport the once unified the worn torn country. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect partnership…. Hooiser Hysteria with the Central African Republic’s love of the same game.  The team will be conducting basketball clinics for kids in Central African Republic bringing hope and the love of Christ to a country in desperate need of both.
